PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leka Luu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Leka Luu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steve Stevenson!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luu closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.
Luu dodges an elbow strike from Stevenson.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Luu just misses with a elbow thrown towards Stevenson's brow.
Luu throws an elbow that misses.
Stevenson tries a knee to the head but Luu blocks it.
Stevenson prevents the takedown attempt.
A battle for position here, against the ropes.
Luu drops down looking for an ankle pick but Stevenson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Stevenson darts in trying to clinch

and Luu counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Stevenson tries to land knees in the clinch but Luu avoids the damage to the body.
Stevenson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Stevenson with a knee to the head.
Stevenson blocks an elbow strike.
A right handed body shot lands from Luu.
Luu throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Stevenson blocks it with crossed arms.

Luu is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Stevenson can't fight it off and eventually Luu manages to take the fight to the floor. Stevenson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Stevenson seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Stevenson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Luu manages to get himself to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Luu is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Stevenson dives into side control.

Stevenson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Luu is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Stevenson has hold of Luu's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Luu seems comfortable defending it but Stevenson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Luu is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Luu is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Stevenson couldn't care less - he's delighted!
