Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Isaias Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Cunnington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Isaias Woods!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Cunnington!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Woods moves into range and clinches up with Cunnington.
Woods slowing the pace effectively.

Cunnington decides to pull guard.
Woods trying to control but Cunnington is working from the bottom.
Cunnington is looking to stand up but Woods isn't so interested in that idea.
Woods throws a strike but Cunnington rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Woods manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cunnington manages to get himself to full guard.

Woods postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cunnington keeping moving, preventing Woods from controlling successfully.
Woods will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Woods content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Woods trying to control the position from guard on top but Cunnington is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cunnington looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Woods working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Woods decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Cunnington, up you get!

Woods changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cunnington looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Cunnington is pushing Woods's head away, looking to escape. Woods manages to hold on to the position though.
Woods wants to control for a moment but Cunnington uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Cunnington has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Woods is working away from the top position though.
Woods is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Woods misses with a head shot. Cunnington uses the momentum to regain guard.
Woods wants to control from the top but Cunnington keeps moving.
Cunnington wants to stand and escape but Woods is having none of it.
Cunnington is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Woods throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Cunnington works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Cunnington keeping moving, preventing Woods from controlling successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cunnington looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Woods is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Cunnington.

Woods forces Cunnington back against the cage and clinches.

Cunnington drags the fight down to the ground.
Woods throwing strikes but missing.
Woods postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cunnington avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Woods trying to control but Cunnington is working from the bottom.
Woods tries to free his leg and advance position but Cunnington is retaining full guard.
Woods stays in close to Cunnington's body and controls the position.
Woods postures up.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Woods throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Cunnington controls Woods momentarily but Woods frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Woods on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Cunnington throws a nice looking combination but Woods bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Woods is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Cunnington.
Woods steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cunnington.
Woods seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
A big left from Cunnington misses.
Woods on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A combination from Cunnington does no damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Woods shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cunnington pinned against the cage. Cunnington gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Ben Cunnington will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Woods keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Cunnington just misses with a punch to the body.

Woods drives through and clinches with Cunnington against the cage.
Woods has Cunnington pressed against the cage.
Cunnington blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Cunnington wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Woods has him pressed against the cage.

Cunnington has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Woods uses from the top position.
Isaias Woods overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Woods.
Woods really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cunnington throws a body punch but Woods moves out of range.
Cunnington misses with a two punch combination.
Woods takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ben Cunnington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cunnington lands a left and a right that send Woods crashing to the mat, dazed. Cunnington thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Woods is rocked!


It looks like Isaias Woods has been cut.
Cunnington lands a brutal uppercut that launches Woods off his feet! Woods tumbles to the floor, barely conscious - the referee jumps in to save him from a beating! Wow, what an ending!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Cunnington!
