Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Yevgenyevich Beschastnykh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Piotr Karpinov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piotr Karpinov will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piotr Karpinov!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beschastnykh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Karpinov tries to avoid it but Beschastnykh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Karpinov to the ground. Karpinov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Vladimir Yevgenyevich Beschastnykh will probably get the nod.

Karpinov had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Beschastnykh is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Karpinov Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Beschastnykh's back instead.
