The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

and Ferreira connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Thiago Souza has been cut.

Souza moves forwards but Ferreira connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Ferreira lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Souza sprawling to the canvas. Ferreira follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Souza hang on?

Souza seems to have recovered his senses.

Ferreira is nestled in close to Souza, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Ferreira stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Souza to get to his feet.

Ferreira connects with a superb combination that knocks Souza out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Ferreira before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Souza!
