PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Wiltsie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Torsti Turjake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wiltsie comes to the cage accompanied by Mein Herz Brennt. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Wiltsie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Torsti Turjake!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turjake tries for a takedown but Wiltsie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A right-left combo lands from Wiltsie.
Nice uppercut there from Wiltsie.
Nice takedown defense from Turjake. No joy for Wiltsie on that attempt.
Wiltsie shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Turjake but Turjake pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Turjake connects with the punch.
Wiltsie scores with a nice strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Turjake misses with a looping left.
Wiltsie moves out of range of the strikes.
Turjake jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Turjake takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Turjake throws a predictable looking body shot

and Wiltsie counters with a single leg into guard. Turjake didn't expect that.
Turjake tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wiltsie wants to pass the guard but Turjake is keeping the position.
Turjake is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Wiltsie keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Wiltsie manages to get to full guard.

Turjake stands up and waves to Wiltsie to follow him.
Turjake showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Wiltsie.

Wiltsie shoots in and bounces Turjake off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Turjake wants to sweep but no luck.
Wiltsie controlling from the top position.

Turjake is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Turjake keeping moving, preventing Wiltsie from controlling successfully.

Turjake pulls Wiltsie in close to his closed guard and prevents Wiltsie from doing any damage or advancing position.

Turjake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wiltsie can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Turjake looks gassed!
Wiltsie passes into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wiltsie uses his free foot to push down on Turjake's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Turjake.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turjake is trying desperately to improve position.

Wiltsie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wiltsie lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Turjake hang on?

Wiltsie can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Turjake is looking to escape.
Turjake can't escape the position.

Wiltsie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Wiltsie looking for a guillotine from mount but Turjake is having none of it.

Turjake sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Turjake is looking to control Wiltsie's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Turjake avoid being mounted?
Turjake is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Wiltsie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Wiltsie's back!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Turjake is persistently looking for the submission but Wiltsie is defending it well.
Turjake is trying to stick to Wiltsie's back but Wiltsie is turning into Turjake. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Turjake's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Wiltsie.

Turjake working for a triangle but Wiltsie defends it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Wiltsie wants to control from the top but Turjake keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Wiltsie dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Turjake throws a jab when Wiltsie was well out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wiltsie.
Turjake manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Turjake is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wiltsie is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Turjake pulls his head out easily.

Turjake is looking for a kimura here.
Wiltsie is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Wiltsie gets back to full guard.
Turjake is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Turjake thows a big elbow that misses.

Turjake drops back, looking for a kneebar! Wiltsie looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Wiltsie looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Wiltsie!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wiltsie tries for a kimura but Turjake is defending well.
Turjake tries to bench press Wiltsie off him but Wiltsie keeps the position.

Wiltsie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Turjake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Wiltsie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Turjake, who protects the arm well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Turjake tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Turjake struggling a bit here.

Wiltsie tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Turjake is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wiltsie connects with a decent elbow.
Wiltsie has control of an arm but Turjake manages to advance to Wiltsie's back!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Wiltsie is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Turjake is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Robert Wiltsie!
