Korpisuo comes to the cage accompanied by Eläkeläiset - Humpparaakki. Kirk Hall has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Risto Korpisuo's chin.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall throws a left and a right that both miss
and Korpisuo cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hall throws a right and a left that Korpisuo avoids nicely.
Hall swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Korpisuo counters with a right hand to the body.
Hall misses with a combination
and Korpisuo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Korpisuo misses with a series of wild punches.
A combination from Hall does no damage.
Hall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Korpisuo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Korpisuo feints and as Hall raises his hands in defense, Korpisuo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Korpisuo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Hall for as long as he can get away with.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Korpisuo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hall moves away.

Korpisuo lands a nice looking kick to the body. Hall takes a step back to recover.
Hall will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hall gets caught napping as Korpisuo dives in and scores a takedown. Hall manages to retain guard.

Korpisuo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Korpisuo closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Hall's guard.

Korpisuo jabs Hall right on the nose. Hall blinks but takes it well.

Hall throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Korpisuo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Korpisuo thumps Hall with a low kick.
Korpisuo dodges the punch combination from Hall.

Korpisuo rushes Hall and presses him up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hall wants to get back to striking at distance but Korpisuo won't allow it.
Hall wants to break the clinch but can't.
Korpisuo is stalling here.
Korpisuo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hall can do to turn this around?

Korpisuo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Korpisuo gets a takedown into half guard.
Hall tries to roll over but Korpisuo keeps him under control.
Still in half guard, Korpisuo seems content to control.
Korpisuo landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Korpisuo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Korpisuo wants to free his trapped foot but Hall is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Korpisuo wants to pass to mount but Hall is defending the position.
Hall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Korpisuo scores with a couple of nice shots.

Korpisuo decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Hall swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Korpisuo counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Korpisuo counters with a shoot takedown. Hall fights it but they end up in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

BOOM! Korpisuo connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hall seems to have recovered his senses.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Korpisuo.
A frustrated look appears on Hall's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hall tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Korpisuo smiles and moves away.

Korpisuo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Risto Korpisuo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Korpisuo tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Korpisuo scores with a couple of short elbows.
Hall seems a little lost for a moment, as Korpisuo dominates the positioning.
Hall takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Check out the look on Korpisuo's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Korpisuo lands a strong strike to the head of Hall. That's dazed him! Korpisuo looking to finish here. Hall is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Korpisuo lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Risto Korpisuo!
Risto Korpisuo seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
