Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Jefferson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tanner Carden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Carden's choice of entrance music: The Final Countdown. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jefferson forces Carden back against the cage and clinches.

Jefferson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Carden uses from the top position.

Carden feints and as Jefferson raises his hands in defense, Carden changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Carden feints a jab promting Jefferson to slip. Carden then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Jefferson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carden lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jefferson circles away quickly and effectively.
Carden looks to land a combination but Jefferson avoids it well.

and Jefferson counters with a left and a right that stings Carden.

Carden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jefferson was covering up waiting for the punch and Carden finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jefferson has closed the distance and engaged Carden in a clinch.

Carden is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Jefferson can't fight it off and eventually Carden manages to take the fight to the floor. Jefferson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Carden won't allow Jefferson to get back to his feet.

Jefferson wants to clinch.
Carden looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Tanner Carden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Carden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carden lands in his opponent's guard.

and Jefferson counters with a three punch combo that has Carden backing up. Carden nods at Jefferson to acknowledge the strikes.
Carden rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jefferson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carden scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Carden lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tanner Carden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Carden throws a right hand that Jefferson ducks under and follows up with a left that Jefferson also avoids with ease.

Jefferson gets control of Carden's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jefferson will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Jefferson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carden's guard.

Carden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

I've got Carden winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
