PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sergio Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yates comes to the ring accompanied by Here comes Tecca Nina - Tech N9ne. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hernandez throws a lazy right hand but Yates sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Yates feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Yates working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hernandez's head.

Hernandez looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hernandez has momentary wrist control but Yates slips an elbow through the middle.

Yates is working Hernandez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hernandez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Yates controls the pace.

Yates has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Yates gets to his feet and stands over Hernandez, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Hernandez felt that one! Yates unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Hernandez from any more punishment!
