The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurmagomedov swats away the attempt to clinch by Fuego.
Kurmagomedov gets off balance looking for a body kick
so Fuego counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Kurmagomedov has his foot on Fuego's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fuego works his way back into a safe position though.
Fuego won't allow Kurmagomedov to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuego postures up in Kurmagomedov's guard and throws a big left but Kurmagomedov blocks it.
Kurmagomedov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Fuego stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kurmagomedov swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kurmagomedov pulls Fuego in to control the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuego throws a big right hand that misses.
Fuego is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Kurmagomedov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Fuego is looking to defend but Kurmagomedov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Fuego! Kurmagomedov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Fuego taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Nabib Kurmagomedov!
