Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Villarreal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bo Dobbins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bo Dobbins!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dobbins swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Villarreal shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Villarreal slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Villarreal feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Villarreal wants to stand but Dobbins is controlling his posture from full guard.
Villarreal postures up in Dobbins's guard and throws a big left but Dobbins blocks it.

Dobbins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Villarreal is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dobbins has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dobbins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Villarreal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Villarreal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dobbins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Villarreal has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dobbins has managed to get both his arms back between Villarreal's legs - danger averted.

Villarreal wants to get back to his feet but Dobbins is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Dobbins would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Villarreal has his foot on Dobbins's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dobbins works his way back into a safe position though.
Villarreal is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Villarreal is on top in guard.

Dobbins seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dobbins wants to get back to his feet but Villarreal is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dobbins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Villarreal gets back to full guard.
Dobbins controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Villarreal is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dobbins feints and as Villarreal raises his hands in defense, Dobbins changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bo Dobbins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Villarreal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dobbins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dobbins manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Villarreal is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dobbins is aware though and is defending well.

Villarreal has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dobbins can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Villarreal doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Dobbins closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Dobbins wants to take a breather but Villarreal is having none of it.

Villarreal tries to kick Dobbins off but Dobbins keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Villarreal is not content to let Dobbins control the position.

Villarreal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Villarreal is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Dobbins pushes Villarreal off looking to stand but Villarreal dives back in and keeps control.
Villarreal not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Dobbins is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Villarreal's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Villarreal's back!

Well Dobbins has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
