Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trey Gill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alesandro Conti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trey Gill has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Trey Gill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alesandro Conti!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Conti displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Gill.

Gill gets caught napping as Conti dives in and scores a takedown. Gill manages to retain guard.
Conti won't allow Gill to sweep him here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Conti controlling from the top position.
Gill wants to control the position but Conti says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Gill has his hands clasped together around Conti's back. He's all about the action.
Gill is looking to escape.
Conti seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gill does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Conti looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gill is looking to control Conti's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gill avoid being mounted?
Conti is trying to control the action in half guard but Gill is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Gill wants to control but Conti passes into side.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gill struggling a bit here.
Gill is trying to get back to half guard.

Conti looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Conti moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Gill is trying to control Conti's posture but Conti avoids it.

Gill struggling a bit here.
A control attempt from Gill but he's now mounted!
Gill wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Conti looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Gill wants to control but Conti is having none of it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Gill shoots in looking for a takedown. Conti tries to sprawl out of it but Gill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Conti manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Conti drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gill is trying to keep Conti in close.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Conti closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Conti passes into side control, despite Gill's attempt to control the position.
A lull in the action here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Conti gets to mount! Gill was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Conti trying to control but Gill is having none of it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gill is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Conti trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Gill keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Conti with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Alesandro Conti showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Conti feints and as Gill raises his hands in defense, Conti changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Gill trying to keep a closed guard but Conti is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gill looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Conti wants to control from the top but Gill keeps moving.
Conti has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gill is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Conti tries to free his leg and advance position but Gill is retaining full guard.
Gill wants to stand and escape but Conti is having none of it.
Gill is trying to control the position but Conti postures up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Conti sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Conti shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gill's guard.

Conti wants to control from the top but Gill keeps moving.
Gill is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gill wants to get back to his feet but Conti passes into half guard.

Gill controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Gill is staying active underneath Conti, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Gill is positioning himself well to prevent Conti advancing to mount.
Conti is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Conti is keen to just control but Gill is a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gill moves into the clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Gill stalling in the clinch but Conti improves position.

Gill's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Conti decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Gill has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Conti is working away from the top position though.

Conti perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alesandro Conti comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Conti winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
