PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Taka Gominori (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesus Gonzalez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gominori comes to the ring accompanied by In Flames - Take This Life. Jesus Gonzalez told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gominori has a takedown stuffed.
Gonzalez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gominori checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Gonzalez misses with a wild combination.

Gominori drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Gominori has gone for a leg lock! Gonzalez slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gominori's guard.
Gonzalez trying to control the position from guard on top but Gominori is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Gominori wants to sweep here but Gonzalez controlling him for the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gominori has a closed guard, preventing Gonzalez from standing up.
Gominori is striking off his back. Gonzalez thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Gominori throws the left hand but Gonzalez avoids the punch easily.

Gominori circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gominori throws a sloppy head kick and Gonzalez moves out of range easily.

Gominori rushes Gonzalez and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

It looks like Taka Gominori has been cut.

Gominori is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Gominori fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Gonzalez waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Gominori. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Gominori to the canvas! Can he finish him!?

Gominori is breathing heavily.
Gominori wants to improve his position but instead Gonzalez has moved into half guard.
Oh Gominori is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gonzalez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gominori looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Gonzalez fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Gonzalez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gominori can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

I really don't envy Gominori right now.
Gominori turns into Gonzalez and is now in his guard.
Gonzalez wants to stand up but Gominori is controlling him.

Gonzalez scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Gonzalez measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Gominori! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!
