Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Buck Phelps (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andreas Kartes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Buck Phelps!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andreas Kartes!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kartes closes the distance and pushes Phelps back into the cage.
Kartes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Phelps just stands there and leans against the cage.
Phelps tries to circle away but Kartes has him pinned against the cage.
Phelps is trying to break the clinch but Kartes has him pressed against the cage.
Kartes tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Phelps smiles and moves away.

Phelps closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Kartes to the mat! Kartes manages to get full guard.
Kartes pulls Phelps in close to his closed guard and prevents Phelps from doing any damage or advancing position.
Phelps wanted to stand there but Kartes had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kartes has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Phelps has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Phelps wants to break the clinch but can't.

Phelps breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Phelps scores with a three punch combo!
Kartes shoots for a takedown but Phelps saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Phelps tried to counter with a leg kick but Kartes avoided it.
Buck Phelps has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andreas Kartes.
Phelps shoots in looking for a takedown. Kartes tries to sprawl out of it but Phelps keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kartes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kartes fails to land the takedown.

Phelps gets tackled into the cage by Kartes. Kartes maintains the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Phelps is trying to break the clinch but Kartes has him pressed against the cage.
Kartes misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Phelps breaks the clinch.
Phelps misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Kartes feints the counter takedown.
Kartes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kartes lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Buck Phelps has been cut.
Kartes throws a left and a right that both miss

and Phelps counters with a shoot takedown. Kartes fights it but they end up in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Phelps trying to control but Kartes is working from the bottom.
Kartes looking for a sweep. Not yet Kartes, not yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kartes not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Kartes working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Phelps doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Phelps manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Phelps accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Phelps slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Phelps avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Andreas Kartes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Phelps shoots in and drives through. Kartes sprawls well.
Kartes scoring well with a low kick there.
Phelps fails with a takedown attempt.
Kartes with a poor takedown

and Phelps counters by moving into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Phelps pulls Kartes into guard.
Phelps working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kartes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Buck Phelps will probably get the nod.

Kartes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Phelps moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kartes lands a head kick!

Phelps is rocked!
Kartes shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Phelps takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Kartes sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Phelps bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
