Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thedit Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johnson has chosen Voodoo People as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson throws a nice head kick!

Johnson rushes Bryant and presses him up against the cage.
Johnson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Bryant fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Johnson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Johnson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bryant sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Johnson somewhat.
Bryant throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Johnson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bryant.
Bryant moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromJohnson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bryant manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bryant misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Johnson.

Bryant's corner calls for a 1-2. Bryant obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Bryant looks to land a left hand but Johnson moved out of range nicely.

Johnson is taking a breather. Bryant says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Bryant wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Bryant tries to roll over but Johnson keeps him under control.
Johnson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Johnson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bryant sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Johnson has a takedown stuffed.
Johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Johnson wants to clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Bryant swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bryant throws a looping overhand right but Johnson ducks down to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryant is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Johnson's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Johnson goes for a double leg but Bryant avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bryant continues to drive forward.

Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.

Bryant seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Johnson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Bryant haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Johnson is working Bryant over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Bryant preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Johnson scores with a head kick. Bryant tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Thomas Johnson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.


It looks like Thedit Bryant has been cut.

I've got Johnson winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
