PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Gee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Rudd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Can't be touched. Rudd is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Gee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Rudd!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gee moves out of range of the body kick.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Gee.
Rudd is letting Gee control him for a moment.
Rudd is not content to let Gee control the position.
Rudd takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Rudd tries to escape but Gee is in control.
Rudd tries to improve position but can't.

Gee stands up and we're back to a striking position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rudd shoots in for a double leg but Gee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A right-left combo lands from Rudd.
Rudd throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rudd throws a hook but Gee blocks it.
Gee tries to land a leg kick but Rudd saw it coming and moves away.
Rudd misses with a few strikes there.
Gee lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rudd circles away quickly and effectively.
Rudd showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Gee.
Rudd stuffs the takedown attempt from Gee. Gee gets slowly back to his feet.
Rudd fails with the takedown
and Gee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rudd circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rudd misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rudd should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Rudd misses with a jab, cross combination.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rudd lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Gee has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Gee and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Gee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Rudd is rocked!
Rudd looks gassed!

Gee lands a nice shot to the head.
Rudd is still in real trouble! Can Gee finish him?
Gee pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Gee landing strikes from the mount and Rudd is in trouble!
Gee cracks Rudd with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
