PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Emmanuel Mcbride (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kacper Strzelba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kacper Strzelba is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Emmanuel Mcbride!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kacper Strzelba!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strzelba fails to land with a series of punches.

Strzelba lands with a nice combination. Mcbride backs away looking to recover.
Strzelba slips a jab and a cross from Mcbride.
Strzelba lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Kacper Strzelba seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mcbride tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Strzelba manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Strzelba drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Mcbride defends it well.
Strzelba shoots in for a takedown but Mcbride shows good takedown defense.
Strzelba throws a right hand that Mcbride ducks under and follows up with a left that Mcbride also avoids with ease.

Strzelba has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Strzelba is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Mcbride decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Strzelba's guard.
Strzelba has momentary wrist control but Mcbride slips an elbow through the middle.

Mcbride is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Strzelba can do to turn this around?

Mcbride looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Strzelba with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Strzelba makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Strzelba will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mcbride darts in looking for a takedown but Strzelba gets double underhooks and turns Mcbride into the cage.

Strzelba shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Strzelba showed some decent athleticism there.

Strzelba thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mcbride's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Mcbride shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Strzelba pinned against the cage. Strzelba gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Strzelba is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
