The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez connects with a single shot there.
Santoro misses with a few strikes there.
Santoro throws a low kick but Alvarez moves out of range easily.
Santoro throws the left hand but Alvarez avoids the punch easily.
Alvarez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Alvarez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Alvarez is trying to trip Santoro. He has hold of a leg but Santoro is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alvarez persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Alvarez has closed the distance and engaged Santoro in a clinch.
Santoro is trying to force a seperation but Alvarez has the dominant position.
Alvarez lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Santoro tries to circle away but Alvarez has him pinned against the cage.
Santoro is trying to push Alvarez away but Alvarez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Santoro misses with a hook
and Alvarez counters with a left and a right that stings Santoro.
Santoro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Alvarez.
Alvarez went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Santoro lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Alvarez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Alvarez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Alvarez lands a really nice looking cross but Santoro seems unphased.

Alvarez lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Santoro falls backwards - clearly groggy! Alvarez dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
