Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Niklaus Michaelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Phoenix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Phoenix's choice of entrance music: Roy Jones - Can't be touched. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Niklaus Michaelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paul Phoenix!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Michaelson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Phoenix but Phoenix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Michaelson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Phoenix tries to clinch but Michaelson is having none of it.
Michaelson fails with the takedown.

Phoenix gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Michaelson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Phoenix just stands there and leans against the cage.

Phoenix is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Michaelson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Phoenix uses from the top position.
Michaelson is breathing heavily.
Michaelson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Phoenix is controlling him.
Phoenix wants to get up but he can't break Michaelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Phoenix is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Phoenix looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Phoenix really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Michaelson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Michaelson is looking to stand up but Phoenix isn't so interested in that idea.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Phoenix takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Phoenix swings wildly with an uppercut but Michaelson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Michaelson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Phoenix lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Michaelson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Phoenix walks away with a smile on his face. Michaelson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Michaelson misses with the body kick
and Phoenix counters with a left right combination that sends Michaelson crashing to the mat - Phoenix wastes no time in diving on top of him and pounding Michaelson out for a TKO! Devastating finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Phoenix!
A very excited looking Paul Phoenix made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
