The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Ren Mimura and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Excellent takedown into side control there by Cruise.
Cruise throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Cruise looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Kernspecht's face as Cruise controls the position.
Kernspecht is looking for a sweep.
Cruise wants to control but Kernspecht is keeping him busy.
Cruise is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kernspecht is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Cruise has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Kernspecht is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Cruise yanks on the arm and Kernspecht is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Cruise.
