Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darren Lockyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Macadam Baird (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Darren Lockyer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Macadam Baird!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Joseph Jones and Dean Styles.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lockyer keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lockyer throws a series of punches but Baird avoids them all with ease.
A jab from Lockyer does it's job there.
Lockyer lands a jab-cross combination.
Lockyer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lockyer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lockyer feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bairds jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Baird drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lockyer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Baird is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Baird is pushing down on Lockyer's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lockyer is fighting to maintain full guard but Baird has managed to sneak the leg through.

Baird is trying to control the action in half guard but Lockyer is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lockyer is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Hey Steves Fight Shack, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Baird is working for a submission of some sort.
Baird wants to control but Lockyer is keeping him busy.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Baird throwing shots but Lockyer is blocking nicely.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lockyer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Darren Lockyer is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Baird's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Lockyer connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Baird scrambles back to his feet.

Baird gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Lockyer looks to land a left hand but Baird moved out of range nicely.
Baird feints the counter takedown.
Lockyer just misses with a punch to the body.
Baird drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lockyer defends it well.

Baird tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lockyer defends well and Baird ends up having to push Lockyer into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Lockyer is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Baird throws a head kick but Lockyer moves out of range.
Baird doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Baird takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Lockyer jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Baird gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Lockyer punishes Baird's body with a nice straight punch.
Lockyer takes a swing at Baird's ribcage but misses.
Baird avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Baird! But no joy.
A jab from Lockyer does it's job there.
A punch lands to the side of Baird 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Baird is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lockyer throws a monster overhand right that drops Baird! Lockyer follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
