Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Game Time Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mordechai Marx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Smooth Operator. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mordechai Marx!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marx wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Marx has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Marx jabs Jones right on the nose. Jones blinks but takes it well.
Marx connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Jones walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like Game Time Jones has been cut.
A swing and a miss from Marx.
Jones drops down looking for a counter takedown but Marx sprawls and moves away.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Marx!

Jones looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Marx!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Marx is trying to get back to half guard.
Jones misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
You can see the frustration on Marx's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marx manages to get back to half guard.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Marx on the ground.

Marx escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Jones lands a couple of elbows.
Marx tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marx has control of Jones's left arm, preventing Jones from doing any damage.
Marx controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Marx punishes Jones's body with a nice straight punch.
Marx fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Jones attempts a counter takedown but Marx avoids it well and moves away.
Jones moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Marx throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Jones takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Marx lands the left hand.


Game Time Jones's cut is getting worse.
Good shot there by Marx.
Marx listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marx misses the shot to the body.
Jones changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Marx is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Marx closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Jones's guard.

Marx avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Marx is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Marx thuds a left hand into Jones's body.

Jones darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Marx manages to get to full guard.
Marx is trying to keep Jones in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones postures up in Marx's guard and throws a big left but Marx blocks it.

Marx looking for a guillotine here but Jones defends easily.

Marx pushes Jones off and gets back to his feet.

Jones closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Marx quickly recovers to half guard.

Marx has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.
Jones misses with a head shot. Marx uses the momentum to regain guard.

Jones throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Marx works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jones accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Marx lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Jones wants to sweep but no luck.

Jones is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marx is aware though and is defending well.

Marx tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Marx has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jones is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Jones is pressing down on Marx's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Marx postures up in Jones's guard and throws a big left but Jones blocks it.

A close second round but Mordechai Marx will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Jones takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Marx swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Marx misses with a double jab.
Jones slips under a jab.
A head kick by Marx misses

so Jones counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Marx pulls Jones in to control the position.
Jones preventing the sweep.
Jones loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Marx is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Marx tries to pass the half guard into mount. Jones knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Marx.
Jones is looking to improve his position.
Jones is refusing to be controlled, as Marx sits in half guard.

Marx is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Marx to get the leverage.
Jones tries to roll over but Marx keeps him under control.

Marx decides to stand and escape the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Marx scores with a leg kick.
Marx connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jones takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Marx lands a jab to the nose.
Marx lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Marx.
Marx scores with a punch to the head.


Game Time Jones's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.

Mordechai Marx has got the better of the ground game so far.

Marx bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jones's guard.

Marx is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.

Crack! Marx connects with the perfect overhand right and Jones falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Marx!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:22 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mordechai Marx!

Mordechai Marx decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
