Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kj Barakus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Olivero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barakus misses with a takedown attempt
and Olivero counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Kj Barakus has been cut.
Olivero throws a nice head kick!
Olivero sizes up Barakus with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Barakus takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Barakus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Olivero's guard.
Olivero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Barakus is one step ahead there.
Barakus stands up over Olivero, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Barakus working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Olivero's head.
Barakus is in close to Olivero's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Barakus keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Olivero's head.

Olivero wants to get back to his feet but Barakus is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Olivero can do anything to dispel that myth.

Barakus drops back looking for a leg! Olivero is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Olivero manages to kick Barakus off! Barakus jumps back into Olivero's guard.
Olivero has momentary wrist control but Barakus slips an elbow through the middle.
Barakus stands and throws Olivero's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Olivero is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Barakus has hold of Olivero's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Olivero tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Barakus cranks the arm and Olivero screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Olivero, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Kj Barakus!
Kj Barakus opened up his post fight interview with a scream to camera that he wants a title shot! Whether he deserves the shot will be up to the management of the organization, so I guess he'll have to wait and see.
