Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jax Marciano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arthur Spigelman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arthur Spigelman has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jax Marciano!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Arthur Spigelman!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spigelman shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Marciano but Marciano pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As Spigelman tries to get set, Marciano tries to push him back and clinch up but Spigelman manages to avoid the attempt.
Spigelman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Marciano.
And Spigelman tries to counter it with a takedown but Marciano pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Marciano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spigelman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Spigelman tries a quick counter leg kick but Marciano is wise to it.

Marciano gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Spigelman slowing the pace effectively.

Marciano escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Marciano slips under a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Marciano shoots for a takedown but Spigelman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Spigelman is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Marciano with a body shot.
Marciano wants to clinch up but Spigelman keeps it at a distance.
Spigelman leaves Marciano with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Spigelman throws out a counter right but Marciano avoids it with no problem.

Marciano does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Marciano shoots in for a takedown but Spigelman shows good takedown defense.
Spigelman punishes Marciano's body with a nice straight punch.
Jax Marciano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A little jabbing left from Spigelman on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

and Spigelman connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Marciano gets underhooks to prevent Spigelman's takedown attempt.

Spigelman tightens his grip and picks Marciano up, before dumping him to the ground. Marciano manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spigelman can do anything to dispel that myth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Spigelman tries to roll over but Marciano keeps him under control.

Spigelman tries to kick Marciano off but Marciano keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Marciano seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Spigelman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Spigelman is doing well to control the position and prevent Marciano from advancing to side control.
Spigelman wants to improve his position but Marciano is controlling well.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Marciano tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Spigelman drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marciano defends it well.

Spigelman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Spigelman lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Marciano manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Spigelman goes for a takedown attempt but Marciano pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jax Marciano will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Spigelman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Marciano tries to avoid it but Spigelman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Marciano to the ground. Marciano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Marciano gets control of Spigelman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marciano will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Spigelman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spigelman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Spigelman looking to sit in guard and control but Marciano gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Marciano might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Marciano won't allow Spigelman to sweep him here.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Spigelman holds on and takes a little breather.
Spigelman wants to stand up but Marciano is controlling him.
Spigelman is pulling down on Marciano's head. It's preventing any offense from Marciano, at least for the moment.
Spigelman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jax Marciano.
Well Marciano has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
