Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Barrett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Riddick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Riddick is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ture Nature by Jane's Addiction. Richard Riddick acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barrett throws a lazy right hand but Riddick sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Riddick has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Riddick there as he acknowledges the shot.

Riddick fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Barrett looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Riddick lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Riddick's coach down at Fitness elite 24/7 was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Riddick's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Barrett throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barrett. Riddick does a little dance to reset his feet.

Barrett definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Riddick doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Riddick dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Riddick uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Barrett.
Barrett tries to land a front kick but Riddick steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Barrett lands a slapping body shot.
Barrett motions for Riddick to come forward. Barrett throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Barrett pivots, looking for a leg kick but Riddick is out of range and Barrett settles back down.
Barrett misses with a hook. Riddick ducked under it nicely.
Barrett cracks Riddick with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Richard Riddick seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd cheers as Barrett lands an impressive looking overhand right. Riddick doesn't seem phased though.

Barrett walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Riddick checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Riddick checks a leg kick.
Barrett lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Riddick at a distance.
Riddick swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Riddick takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Riddick tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Barrett was well out of range. Poor timing from Riddick.

Barrett scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Riddick takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Barrett counters with a big right hand! Oh Riddick is in trouble here! Barrett follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

A relieved looking Jason Barrett thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
