The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryuga shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ryuga was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Ramirez pushes Ryuga away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ryuga gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ryuga is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ramirez is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Ramirez wants to control but Ryuga postures up.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ryuga shoots in and bounces Ramirez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Ryuga not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Ramirez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Ryuga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ryuga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Ramirez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ryuga's guard.

Ryuga throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ramirez escapes and throws Ryuga's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ryuga looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ramirez is defending well. Ryuga quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ramirez has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Ryuga celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
