Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Billy Bob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nycky Downtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Downtime has chosen Bring It as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Billy Bob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 29 - 2, fighting out of New York, Nycky Downtime!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downtime falls off balance throwing a combination
and Bob counters with a good low kick that Downtime was not able to check.
Downtime throws a head kick but Bob moves out of range.
Downtime misses with an uppercut.
Bob scores with a decent looking hook.

Bob closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Downtime to the mat! Downtime manages to get full guard.
Downtime keeping full guard, as Bob tries to pass.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Downtime pulls Bob in to control the position.
Downtime is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bob is controlling him.
Downtime looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bob is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bob passes Downtime's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bob trying to mount his opponent but Downtime defends it.
Bob is nestled in close to Downtime, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Downtime is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Downtime gets full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Downtime trying to keep a closed guard but Bob is proving a slippery customer.
Bob passes Downtime's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Bob wants to free his trapped foot but Downtime is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bob winds up and cracks Downtime with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bob missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bob looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bob looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Downtime with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Downtime moves into full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bob throws a strike but Downtime rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Downtime stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bob swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Downtime wants to control from the top but Bob keeps moving.
Downtime throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Downtime stopping the sweep attempt from Bob.
Bob looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Downtime puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Bob is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Downtime's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Downtime's back!
Downtime covering up well under a series of strikes from Bob.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Downtime prevents Bob from getting a body triangle.
Downtime trying to control the action but Bob just sinks the hooks in.
Bob thows a strike but Downtime uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Downtime as he ends up in Bob 's guard!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Downtime trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bob keeping moving, preventing Downtime from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Bob dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Downtime swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Bob counters with a shoot takedown. Downtime fights it but they end up in guard.
Downtime seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Bob engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Bob wants to pass the guard but Downtime is keeping the position.
Bob postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Downtime keeping full guard, as Bob tries to pass.

Downtime working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Bob has passed into half guard!

Bob looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Bob is trying to control the action in half guard but Downtime is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Downtime keeping hold of Bob's head, controlling as best he can.
Billy Bob overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Bob uses his free foot to push down on Downtime's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Downtime.
Bob trying to control but Downtime is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bob putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Downtime defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bob.
Bob lands a heavy elbow.
Poor strikes thrown by Bob there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Bob pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Downtime is trying desperately to improve position.
Bob thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Downtime manages to control the position for a moment.
Bob controlling from the full mount.
Downtime tries to reverse the position but Bob maintains control.
Bob trying to control but Downtime is having none of it.

Bob goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Downtime is on top in guard.
Downtime stopping the sweep attempt from Bob.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Downtime stays in close to Bob's body and controls the position.
Bob pulls Downtime in close to prevent any damage.
Downtime looking to pass the guard.
Downtime trying to control but Bob is working from the bottom.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bob has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Downtime can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Bob dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Bob connects with a leg kick. Downtime looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Bob scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Downtime moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Downtime trying to keep a closed guard but Bob is proving a slippery customer.

Billy Bob is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bob trying to keep a closed guard but Downtime is proving a slippery customer.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bob avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bob pulls Downtime in to control the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bob looks for the body kick but Downtime saw that one coming.
Bob throws a shot to the body.
Bob is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bob buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Downtime tries to bum rush Bob with a series of wild strikes but Bob uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bob pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Downtime wants to land a leg kick but Bob is out of range.
Downtime stuffs the takedown.
Downtime throws a chopping leg kick but Bob manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Downtime slips under a jab from Bob.
Bob throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bob slips a jab and a cross from Downtime.
Bob avoids a punch combination nicely.
Billy Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bob keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Downtime motions for Bob to come forward. Downtime throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Bob changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Downtime has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Downtime there as he acknowledges the shot.
Downtime on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bob. Bob obviously looking to wear him down.
Downtime lands a head kick. Bob smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Downtime misses with a wild combination.
Bob is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Downtime can do to turn this around?
Bob takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bob fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Downtime to the ground. Bob is now in Downtime's guard.
Downtime tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Downtime being controlled here, momentarily.

And that's the end of the fight!
Billy Bob showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Bob has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
