The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomi throws a head kick that misses.
Gomi misses with a takedown attempt - Nyrkki sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nyrkki wants to clinch up but Gomi keeps it at a distance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gomi tries to kick Nyrkki off but Nyrkki keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

and Nyrkki counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Gomi!
Gomi is squirming around, avoiding Nyrkki's attempts to control the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Well Nyrkki has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
