Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Opie Langston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Ortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miguel Ortega is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Opie Langston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miguel Ortega!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Michael Johnstone and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ortega shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Langston is trying to defend but Ortega finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ortega content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Langston wants to control but Ortega is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Ortega is working for a submission of some sort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Langston fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ortega has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Langston wants to sweep here but Ortega controlling him for the moment.

It looks like Ortega might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Ortega is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Langston presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.

Langston looks to land a combination. Ortega sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Langston moves in looking to clinch but Ortega pushes him off.

Ortega shoots in and bounces Langston off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ortega not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Ortega is pushing down on Langston's leg trying to pass to half guard. Langston is fighting to maintain full guard but Ortega has managed to sneak the leg through.

Ortega is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Ortega is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ortega in particular looking to stall.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Miguel Ortega showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Langston's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ortega is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Langston can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Ortega lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Langston is rocked!

A big strike lands for Ortega! That's really hurt Langston and he's turned his back - Ortega keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Ortega jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
