Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kurt Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daz Cruz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daz Cruz will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daz Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Turner counters with a single leg into guard. Cruz didn't expect that.
Cruz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Cruz seems to be looking for submissions.
Turner is looking to improve his position.
Cruz wants to control but Turner is keeping him busy.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cruz tries to clinch there but Turner circles away.
Cruz has a takedown stuffed.
It looked like Turner was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Cruz.
Cruz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Cruz feints and as Turner raises his hands in defense, Cruz changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Turner closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cruz's guard.

Cruz has his foot on Turner's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Turner works his way back into a safe position though.

Cruz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Turner controls the pace.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Turner is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Cruz can do to turn this around?

Turner has gone for a leg lock! Cruz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Turner's guard.

Cruz drives through with a takedown into guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Turner tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Cruz defends well and Turner ends up having to push Cruz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Turner shoots for a takedown but Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Cruz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Turner but Turner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
It looked like Turner was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Turner gets caught napping as Cruz dives in and scores a takedown. Turner manages to retain guard.
Cruz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Turner is looking for a triangle but Cruz pushes his legs off easily.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Turner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cruz can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cruz throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Turner tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Cruz is in Turner's guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Turner shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cruz is trying to defend but Turner finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kurt Turner.
Well Turner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
