The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Fernandez.

Fernandez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Soikov is working away from the top position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Soikov lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Fernandez is rocked!
Fernandez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Soikov.
Well, with Soikov on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Fernandez is tapping out... Can he escape the position?
Let's hope that Soikov has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Soikov looking to break Fernandez's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Fernandez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Soikov will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Fernandez is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Soikov gets his way!

Soikov is looking for a choke. Fernandez gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Fernandez manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Fernandez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Soikov but Soikov pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Fernandez throws a right hand that Soikov ducks under and follows up with a left that Soikov also avoids with ease.
Fernandez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Artem Soikov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fernandez is trying to pull guard but Soikov turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Fernandez tries to score a body lock takedown but Soikov shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Fernandez manages to break the clinch.
Soikov feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
