Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlos Ryoku!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Riese Deponte !
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Deponte drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Deponte avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Deponte wants to control from the top but Ryoku keeps moving.
Deponte tries to free his leg and advance position but Ryoku is retaining full guard.
Deponte trying to control the position from guard on top but Ryoku is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Ryoku looking for a guillotine here but Deponte defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Deponte postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ryoku is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Deponte , into his guard.

Deponte wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Deponte lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ryoku!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ryoku tries to reverse the position but Deponte maintains control.
Deponte trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Deponte jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ryoku is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ryoku and Deponte has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ryoku is looking for a sweep.

Deponte is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Ryoku knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Deponte wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ryoku keeps working.
Ryoku manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ryoku gets back to full guard.

Ryoku is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Ryoku keeping moving, preventing Deponte from controlling successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Ryoku looking for a guillotine here but Deponte defends easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Deponte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ryoku's waist but Ryoku gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deponte off to one side.
Deponte shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Deponte looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Ryoku!
Ryoku is desperately trying to improve his position but Deponte has a good base and remains in mount.

Deponte moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Ryoku has worked his arm free - good work by Ryoku!
Ryoku is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Ryoku regains full guard. Nicely done.
Deponte is breathing heavily.

Deponte wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Ryoku's closed guard. He's half up but Ryoku has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Ryoku pivots and extends the arm, Deponte falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Ryoku! Well done that man!
