The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicholson fails in his attempt to clinch.
Skartland is looking to chop away at Nicholson's legs.
Jared Nicholson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nicholson connects with a right hand. Skartland shakes it off.
Skartland throws the left hand but Nicholson avoids the punch easily.

Skartland shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Nicholson eats them both and turns towards Skartland to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It looks like Per Skartland has been cut.
We've been informed that Skartland has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
