Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fahad Al Qarni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Al Qarni comes to the cage accompanied by Hells Bells. Nix has chosen Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joey Nix!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Qarni takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Al Qarni takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nix scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Nix fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Al Qarni manages to avoid it.
Al Qarni throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Al Qarni throws a combination. Nix tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Al Qarni cracks Nix with a good jab.
Nix uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Al Qarni.
Fahad Al Qarni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nix is trying to control. Al Qarni wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Nix is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Al Qarni doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Nix.
Nix uses his free foot to push down on Al Qarni's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Al Qarni.

Nix is looking for the choke from the back position but Al Qarni is controlling his hands well.

Nix looking to break Al Qarni's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Al Qarni remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nix will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Al Qarni is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Nix gets his way!

Nix is persistently looking for the submission but Al Qarni is defending it well.

Nix has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Al Qarni has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Al Qarni tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nix jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Al Qarni is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Al Qarni and Nix has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Al Qarni lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nix circles away quickly and effectively.

Nice shot lands for Nix.
Nix avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nix sizes up Al Qarni with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Nix stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Nix has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Al Qarni closes the distance looking for a takedown. Nix stuffs it but Al Qarni still has hold of him. Al Qarni picks Nix up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Al Qarni slams Nix to the floor and that's really hurt Nix - he doesn't know where he is! Al Qarni throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
