Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carrera Villamora (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villamora throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Meida tries for a takedown but Villamora circles away easily
and Villamora counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Thiago Meida has been cut.
Villamora digs a good body shot into Meida's ribs.

A little jabbing left from Villamora on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Meida takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thiago Meida's cut is getting worse.

Villamora cracks Meida with an uppercut from hell and Meida crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Villamora's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

Meida is rocked!

Thiago Meida's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Villamora stays in close to Meida's body and controls the position.
Oh Meida is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Meida seems to have got his legs back now.

Villamora is pushing down on Meida's leg trying to pass to half guard. Meida is fighting to maintain full guard but Villamora has managed to sneak the leg through.
Meida is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Mano`s Elite BJJ Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Villamora wants to free his trapped foot but Meida is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Villamora wants to lay and pray for a moment but Meida keeps working.
Villamora might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Meida haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Villamora really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Meida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Villamora is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Meida rather than just go for the knockout.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Villamora. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Villamora has cracked Meida with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Villamora lands another huge swinging hook and Meida tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Meida, before Villamora can land any more shots!
