PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steven Jason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenn Togi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. On his way into the cage it seems that Steven Jason has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Steven Jason seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Togi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jason defends it nicely.

Jason gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jason has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Togi uses from the top position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jason rushes Togi and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Jason pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Togi manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jason fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Togi has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jason could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Togi tries for a takedown but Jason sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jason throws a big counter combination but Togi scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Steven Jason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lenn Togi.

Jason closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Jason takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Togi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
