Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Alexander Povetkin!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Chris Saunders and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Povetkin misses with an uppercut. Mangold saw that one coming.
Povetkin lands a body shot.
Povetkin throws a hook to the side of Mangold's head but Mangold sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mangold shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Povetkin defends it nicely.
Danny Mangold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Povetkin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mangold has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Povetkin has managed to get both his arms back between Mangold's legs - danger averted.

Mangold isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Povetkin stacks Mangold on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Povetkin!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Povetkin throws a nice looking combination but Mangold bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Mangold closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Povetkin's guard.

Mangold has his foot on Povetkin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Povetkin works his way back into a safe position though.

Mangold escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Povetkin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mangold throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Povetkin escapes and throws Mangold's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mangold darts in looking for a takedown but Povetkin gets double underhooks and turns Mangold into the cage.
As Mangold backs off Povetkin throws a huge counter combo but Mangold manages to avoid it all.

Mangold feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I've got Povetkin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
