Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between August Guerrero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Hagan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). August Guerrero has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, August Guerrero!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Hagan!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Russell Pearce and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerrero fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Hagan looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hagan shoots in and drives through. Guerrero sprawls well.
Guerrero shoots in for a takedown but Hagan shows good takedown defense.

Guerrero pushes Hagan up against the cage in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hagan gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Guerrero tries to roll over but Hagan keeps him under control.
Guerrero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Hagan throws a big right hand that misses.
Guerrero really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Guerrero wants to sweep here but Hagan controlling him for the moment.
Hagan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Guerrero swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Guerrero is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Guerrero is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hagan sees it coming and defends easily.

Guerrero is trying to control. Hagan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Guerrero is looking for a kimura but Hagan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Guerrero to get the leverage.
Hagan wants to control but Guerrero is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Guerrero will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Guerrero is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hagan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Guerrero.

Hagan holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Hagan wants to get back to full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Guerrero moves into the clinch.
Hagan gets underhooks to prevent Guerrero's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for August Guerrero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hagan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Guerrero is on top in guard.

That was a close round but I would say that August Guerrero will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Guerrero misses with a takedown attempt - Hagan sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Guerrero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hagan tries to avoid it but Guerrero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hagan to the ground. Hagan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Guerrero closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guerrero misses with a hook to the ribs.

Hagan has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Guerrero uses from the top position.
Hagan is breathing heavily.

Hagan wants to stand but Guerrero is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hagan avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Hagan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jim Hagan has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hagan keeping moving, preventing Guerrero from controlling successfully.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hagan.
Guerrero seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
We've been informed that Hagan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Guerrero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hagan as he jumps to the side.
Hagan with the counter takedown but Guerrero avoids it easily.

Guerrero moves into range and clinches up with Hagan.

Guerrero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hagan pulls Guerrero in close to prevent any damage.

Guerrero is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Guerrero drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hagan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Guerrero has Hagan in his guard.

Jim Hagan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Guerrero's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Hagan slaps away a takedown attempt from Guerrero, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hagan feints the counter takedown.
Guerrero stuffs the takedown.

Guerrero drives through and clinches with Hagan against the cage.

Hagan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Guerrero is trying to force a seperation but Hagan has the dominant position.
Hagan tries for a takedown. No joy.

Hagan drags the fight down to the ground.

Guerrero drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Guerrero jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Hagan has momentary wrist control but Guerrero slips an elbow through the middle.

Guerrero controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Horrible takedown attempt by Guerrero or perhaps it was just good defense by Hagan, which made it look bad.
Hagan tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for August Guerrero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Guerrero drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guerrero is fighting to break Hagan's control of his arms but Hagan is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Guerrero is stalling in the full guard.

Hagan can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Guerrero controls the pace.

Guerrero is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hagan is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hagan has escaped and now he's on top!

August Guerrero showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Guerrero has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
