PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Royce Graice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jake Lewis was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Royce Graice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Graice looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lewis with the counter takedown but Graice avoids it easily.
Graice is looking to clinch but Lewis is avoiding it.

and Lewis counters with a single leg into guard. Graice didn't expect that.
Lewis postures up in Graice's guard and throws a big left but Graice blocks it.

Graice is working an open guard so Lewis takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Lewis bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lewis is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Lewis wants to control but Graice is keeping him busy.

Graice is breathing heavily.

Lewis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Lewis lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Graice down.

Lewis is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Lewis is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lewis was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A lull in the action here as Lewis stalls from top position.

Graice is rocked!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lewis scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Graice is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Lewis can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jake Lewis!
