Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tirion Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigues kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Disturbed - Liberate. Jackson has chosen as his entrance music. Tirion Jackson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jackson as he avoids it easily.
Jackson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rodrigues.
Jackson misses with a straight left.

Rodrigues keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jackson.

Rodrigues shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Rodrigues with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Rodrigues swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackson is now in Rodrigues's guard. A big mistake from Rodrigues there, giving up the dominant position!

Rodrigues has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.
Jackson wants to stand but Rodrigues has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jackson changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
No luck for Rodrigues with that takedown attempt.
Rodrigues blocks a jab.
Rodrigues takes a jab right on the kisser.

Jackson stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gabriel Rodrigues. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rodrigues changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jackson tries to avoid it but Rodrigues manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jackson to the ground. Jackson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rodrigues shoots in for a double leg but Jackson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rodrigues takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jackson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Jackson might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jackson misses with an uppercut. Rodrigues saw that one coming.
Oh Rodrigues is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Rodrigues takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Jackson throws the left hand but Rodrigues avoids the punch easily.

Jackson connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Rodrigues tumbling to the canvas! Jackson pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Rodrigues was done - good stoppage!
