Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Warren Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cristiano Miranda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Warren Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cristiano Miranda!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Booth gets caught napping as Miranda dives in and scores a takedown. Booth manages to retain guard.

Booth will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Miranda is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Booth wants to sweep here but Miranda controlling him for the moment.
Miranda tries to free his leg and advance position but Booth is retaining full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Miranda must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Booth manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miranda manages to get himself to full guard.

Booth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Miranda closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Booth to the mat! Booth manages to get full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Booth shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Booth showed some decent athleticism there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Booth seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Miranda for as long as he can get away with.
Booth thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miranda's head.

That was a close round but I would say that Warren Booth will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Miranda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miranda lands in his opponent's guard.
Miranda has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Booth is proving hard to escape from.
Booth has control of Miranda's left arm, preventing Miranda from doing any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Miranda dives in and scores a takedown into Booth's guard.
Miranda wants to stand but Booth has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Miranda wants to control from the top but Booth keeps moving.

Miranda tries to stand but Booth is controlling from the bottom.
Booth has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Miranda feints and as Booth raises his hands in defense, Miranda changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cristiano Miranda has got the better of the ground game so far.
Booth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Miranda's guard.

Booth chips away with some ground and pound.

Miranda is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Booth defends well.
Booth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Booth controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cristiano Miranda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Booth takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Miranda manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Booth on his heels. He'll look to pass Booth's guard now, I'm sure.

Booth is looking to cinch up a triangle. Miranda throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Booth's body to avoid the submission. Booth has instead reached around Miranda's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Booth arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Warren Booth!
