Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Thiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lanier Trina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trina has closed the distance and engaged Thiago in a clinch.

Trina tightens his grip and picks Thiago up, before dumping him to the ground. Thiago manages to land in guard.

Trina stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Thiago paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Thiago lands with a shot to the body.

Trina shoots in looking for a takedown but Thiago manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Trina's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Thiago connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Trina shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Thiago but Thiago pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jorge Thiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lanier Trina.

Thiago avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Trina dives in and grabs Thiago's left leg, looking for a takedown. Thiago pushes down on Trina's head and hops out.

Trina fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Thiago checks it well.
Trina shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thiago sprawls well. Thiago wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trina gets slowly back to his feet.

It looked like Thiago wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Thiago counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
