Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Seb Freeth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Herman Mudgett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mudgett misses with a takedown attempt - Freeth sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Freeth misses with a leg kick.
Mudgett looks to land a combination but Freeth avoids it well.
Freeth seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Mudgett throws the left hand but Freeth avoids the punch easily.
Freeth wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Mudgett fails with the takedown.
Freeth slips a jab and a cross from Mudgett.
Mudgett connects with a crisp jab.
Mudgett fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freeth tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Mudgett manages to circle out of the way.

My spies in The Fortress inform me that Mudgett has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Freeth is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mudgett is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mudgett closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Freeth's guard.

Mudgett remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

A less than humble Herman Mudgett misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
