The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Salazar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Johnson winds up and cracks Salazar with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson is taking a breather. Salazar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Johnson lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Salazar might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Salazar sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
