The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petkanov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Leach moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Petkanov closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Petkanov wants the takedown. Leach is fighting it off but Petkanov persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Leach's guard against the cage.
Leach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Petkanov is one step ahead there.
Leach not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Leach is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Petkanov can do anything to dispel that myth.

Leach seems to be looking for submissions.
Petkanov is looking for a sweep. Leach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
