Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trey Anastasio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Cartmen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trey Anastasio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Cartmen!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cartmen shoots in and bounces Anastasio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Anastasio is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cartmen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anastasio swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Anastasio lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cartmen!

Cartmen manages to reverse the position and now he's in Anastasio's guard. Nice work there by Cartmen.

Cartmen drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Anastasio manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cartmen has Anastasio in his guard.

Anastasio passes Cartmen's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Anastasio lands a nice short elbow.
Anastasio has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Anastasio moves nicely into side control.

Anastasio has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Anastasio throws a sloppy head kick and Cartmen moves out of range easily.

Anastasio shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cartmen but Cartmen pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Anastasio decides to stand up, so the ref orders Cartmen to his feet.
Anastasio misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Anastasio fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cartmen sprawls well initially but Anastasio persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cartmen can do anything to dispel that myth.

Trey Anastasio overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Anastasio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cartmen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cartmen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cartmen is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Anastasio pulls Cartmen in close to his closed guard and prevents Cartmen from doing any damage or advancing position.
Anastasio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cartmen's guard.

Cartmen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Anastasio stacks Cartmen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Anastasio!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cartmen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cartmen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Anastasio is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cartmen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Anastasio's back instead.

Cartmen with a lazy takedown attempt

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
