Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenji Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ebner Estavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenji Sakuraba had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenji Sakuraba!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ebner Estavez!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakuraba darts in looking for a takedown but Estavez gets double underhooks and turns Sakuraba into the cage.
Sakuraba dodges the punch combination from Estavez.

Estavez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sakuraba is looking for a sweep. Estavez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sakuraba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Estavez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Estavez has escaped and now he's on top!

I've been told that Estavez has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

Estavez gets to his feet - Sakuraba follows without any prompting.
Sakuraba tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Estavez swivels and escapes.

A looping hook to the body misses from Sakuraba. Estavez does a little dance to reset his feet.
Estavez tries to counter with a clinch but Sakuraba shakes him off and moves away.

That's time! Sakuraba's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

It looks like Ebner Estavez has been cut.
Estavez lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Sakuraba shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Estavez counters with a one-two to the body.

As Estavez looks to move away, Sakuraba throws a big counter combo bu Estavez just gets out of the way.

Sakuraba closes the distance and clinches up with Estavez, looking for a takedown. Sakuraba pushes Estavez against the cage but Estavez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Estavez! But no joy.

Sakuraba throws a right hand that Estavez ducks under and follows up with a left that Estavez also avoids with ease.

Estavez is pulling down on Sakuraba's head. It's preventing any offense from Sakuraba, at least for the moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Some bone on bone action there as Sakuraba checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Estavez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sakuraba sprawls well. Sakuraba wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Estavez gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Estavez is looking to take a break and control but Sakuraba is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Ebner Estavez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Estavez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
