The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zegan feints and then cracks Reipas's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Reipas down.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

And Reipas tries to counter it with a takedown but Zegan pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Zegan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Reipas, pushing him back against the ropes.
Reipas is trying to pull guard but Zegan has him pressed against the ropes.
Zegan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Reipas backwards.

Zegan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Reipas avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zegan tries to score with a low kick but Reipas moves his leg out of the way.

Zegan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Reipas.
Maciej Zegan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Zegan connects with a right hand. Reipas shakes it off.
A looping hook to the body misses from Zegan. Reipas does a little dance to reset his feet.

Zegan falls off balance throwing a combination

and Reipas counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Reipas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Zegan on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zegan tries to get out of the position.

Reipas tries for a kimura but Zegan is defending well.

Reipas is working to tighten his grip on Zegan's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Zegan has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Reipas is really squeezing tight and eventually Zegan passes out! Reipas breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
