The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buster fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Merkursson on the side of the head.
Jab, jab by Buster - just one landing.
Buster punishes Merkursson's body with a nice straight punch.
Bronko Buster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merkursson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Merkursson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Buster wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
A right-left combo lands from Buster.
Nice uppercut there from Buster.
Buster lands a glancing blow to the side of Merkursson's head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Buster comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Merkursson takes one to the side of the head.
Merkursson looks winded!
Buster takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Buster paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Buster closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Buster is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Buster lands a big uppercut and Merkursson crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Merkursson looks OK. Buster waves Merkursson back to his feet!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Merkursson doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Buster sends Merkursson crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Buster is motioning to the referee to let Merkursson up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Buster cracks Merkursson with a left hook right on the temple and Merkursson goes down! He's out! Referee! Stop the fight! Buster lands a few more punches before the dopey ref steps in - hopefully Merkursson is OK!
