PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lord Seraphim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pablo Escobar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lord Seraphim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pablo Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Escobar misses with a series of wild punches.
Escobar looks to score with a jab to the body but Seraphim is just out of range.
Seraphim seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Seraphim throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Escobar has managed to clinch.
Seraphim misses with the head strike.

Escobar escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Seraphim thows a left - swing and a miss!
Escobar looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Seraphim looks to score with a jab to the body but Escobar is just out of range.

Escobar has Seraphim up against the cage in a clinch.
Seraphim tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Escobar's elbow.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Escobar gets control of Seraphim's arms and successfully pulls guard. Escobar will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Escobar is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Seraphim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Escobar has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Seraphim has managed to get both his arms back between Escobar's legs - danger averted.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Escobar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Seraphim momentarily.

Seraphim can't find room to land a body shot as Escobar controls the action.

Escobar bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Seraphim's guard.

Escobar seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Escobar gets through Seraphim's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Escobar has hold of one of Seraphim's legs. Seraphim is fighting the takedown attempt but Escobar gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Seraphim really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Seraphim is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Escobar is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Lord Seraphim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Seraphim uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Escobar has time to react.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Seraphim, as that shot connected.

Pablo Escobar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Escobar has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Pablo Escobar decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
