Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Rob Mills (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Coltin Scheihing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coltin Scheihing is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Coltin Scheihing!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Scheihing misses
and Mills connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Scheihing throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mills fails with a takedown attempt.

Scheihing shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Scheihing is looking to clinch.

Mills rushes Scheihing and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scheihing wants to sweep here but Mills controlling him for the moment.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scheihing can do anything to dispel that myth.

and Scheihing holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Rob Mills will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Mills fails with the takedown.
Scheihing tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Scheihing goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Mills dives in and grabs Scheihing's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scheihing pushes down on Mills's head and hops out.

Scheihing closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mills's guard.

Scheihing must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mills has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Mills wants to stand but Scheihing has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Scheihing keeping moving, preventing Mills from controlling successfully.

Mills is looking to stand up but Scheihing won't let him.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Scheihing wants to get back to his feet but Mills passes into half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Mills controlling the position easily from mount.
Scheihing is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Mills wants to stand but Scheihing is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Mills punishing his opponent with strikes.
Mills scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Scheihing?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mills wants to control the pace but Scheihing is squirming around nicely.
Mills postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Scheihing looks a forlorn figure.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Mills dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Scheihing tries to land a leg kick but Mills saw it coming and moves away.

Mills moves into the clinch.
Mills is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Mills goes for a takedown in the clinch but Scheihing prevents it.
Mills unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Mills works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Mills stands and throws Scheihing's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Scheihing is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Mills is chipping away with strikes.
Rob Mills overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Mills in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Scheihing is trying to control Mills's posture but Mills avoids it.
Mills tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Scheihing gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Scheihing reaches up to try and control the position but Mills seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Scheihing rolls and tries to escape and now Mills has his back!

Scheihing rolls, trying to escape but Mills keeps control of the position.
Mills has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Scheihing's body.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rob Mills showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mills, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
